RIYADH IS READY

This week saw the Riyadh 2030 Bid Team reach a major milestone after 8 months of hard work – delivering a hugely successful OCA Evaluation Committee Visit with young and talented Saudis determined to win and bring the Asian Games for the first time to the nation. The Kingdom is going through an unprecedented transformation with the sports sector playing a major role in this process.

I am absolutely honoured to be part of this Team on this journey of transformation under the leadership of Prince Abdulaziz Turki Al Faisal Al Saud and the guiding support of Prince Fahad Bin Jalawi Alsaud. The timing is perfect and the vision for these Games is shared by the entire nation and fully aligned to the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 strategy.

I strongly believe that the Asian Games in 2030 will serve as an accelerator to realize this plan and fulfil the dreams of millions of Saudis. With 51% of the population under 25, one can easily imagine the huge positive impact in 10 years.

As a vibrant city with an amazing passion for sport, Riyadh has the population, the venues, and the know-how to deliver a wonderful Asian Games in 2030!
